CPS 588 Career and Lifestyle Development
This course provides an overview of career development and its relationship to mental health through a biblical worldview. Students examine major theories of career development, career counseling, and decision-making models while exploring assessment strategies and the influence of culture, socioeconomic status, disability, trauma, and other contextual factors. Lifespan processes related to work values, occupational choice, career identity, career paths, and work adjustment are considered in relation to mental well-being. Emphasis is placed on culturally responsive strategies for supporting diverse clients in career, educational, and life-role decision-making.
