CPS 515 Counseling Theory and Techniques
This course provides an overview of various systems of psychotherapy and their application to the treatment of mental health disorders. Case studies and vignettes, representative of various mental health disorders, are used for case conceptualization and the development and implementation of treatment strategies from various methodological approaches. The role of spirituality and religion in treatment is discussed. An appraisal from a biblical worldview prepares students to navigate unique treatment issues critical to integrating faith into professional work with a range of diverse clients.
