GPC 515 Counseling Theory and Techniques

This course presents an overview of major counseling theories and the techniques and practices associated with those theories. Student experiences shall include an examination of the historical development of affective, behavioral, and cognitive theories, and the application of theoretical material to case studies. Students will be exposed to models of counseling that are consistent with current professional research and practice in the field and begin to develop their own theoretical approach to clinical mental health counseling.
