Worship Arts Major (BA)

Major Mission: The Worship Arts major is designed to facilitate the spiritual and artistic mentoring of students, with the goal of offering to local ministries anywhere in the world, a high standard of biblical, artistic, and professional worship leadership.
Major Outcomes: In addition to the departmental objectives, the students will:
- Demonstrate the ability to mentor and guide others toward the establishment of a biblical community of worship.
- Articulate a biblical worldview for the integration of worship into all aspects of personal and ministry life.
- Demonstrate the ability to teach and defend biblical principles related to the worship arts.
- Describe a global perspective of worship arts' resources and opportunities.
- Organize and administer the use of worship arts in a professional ministry context.
Requirements: In order to fulfill the baccalaureate requirements in worship arts, the students must:
- Complete all credit requirements for general college and specific major.
- Fulfill all departmental requirements as outlined in the MWPA Handbook.
- Complete WPA 101, the MWPA seminar.
- Demonstrate proficiency in an applied area.
- Participate and maintain a 3.5 average in a large ensemble for eight semesters.
- Maintain a 3.0 average in a chosen proficiency.
- Satisfactorily complete all internships and practicum.
- Perform and obtain a satisfactory evaluation from the MWPA faculty for the student senior project.
- Attend all required MWPA forum (WPA 100) performances and events.
