Program Mission Statement: The Ministry Leadership program exists to develop leaders for biblically-based, gospel-focused, spiritually formative ministry in the church, community, and around the world.
Program Description: This degree offers a solid foundation of Biblical knowledge, leadership theory, and practical skills development through the coursework while providing a highly customizable framework for hands-on learning through the field experience and mentoring relationships which run throughout the program.
Program Learning Outcomes: As a result of this program, students will:
1. Display integrity as a Christ-follower and leader for the purpose of developing holistic health personally and professionally.
2. Articulate a biblical and gospel-centered philosophy of ministry.
3. Cultivate an understanding and praxis of Christ-centered leadership and administration.
4. Exhibit the interpersonal skills necessary for effective ministry.
5. Develop relationships and strategies that reflect a proper understanding of ministry context.
6. Demonstrate teaching, caring, discipleship and outreach skills for ministry.
Experiential Learning: We place a high value on field experience in ministry preparation. As a result, all online undergraduate Ministry Leadership students will complete two substantial field experiences: MIN 350 Ministry Leadership Internship and MIN 450 Ministry Leadership Practicum. Students are responsible for arranging their own field placements in churches or parachurch ministries. However, the School of Bible & Ministry works closely with students and ministries to ensure a good learning experience.

FAS 100 Foundations for Academic Success is required for students studying online unless they are transferring in 45 or more credits, not including life experience credits. Students should take this course at the beginning of their program.

Christian Service (0 credit)
Christian Service provides an important part of the overall education program of the college. Its function is to assist students in experiencing various forms of practical ministry, proclaiming Christ by serving Him in the Church and society.

Program Director: Rev. Thomas Beck
Tom serves as the program coordinator for the Bachelor of Arts in Ministry Leadership (BAML) program, beginning July 2025. Before that, he served as an adjunct professor in the School of Bible and Ministry Department, teaching various courses from 2021 to the present time.
Tom has been the Senior Pastor of St. Peter’s Church, a non-denominational ministry in southern York County, since 2004. Before that, he worked in computer science in the insurance processing department.
Tom has been married to Heidi for 37 years. They have two grown children who are married and have four grandchildren.
In his spare time, Tom enjoys running, hunting, and reading.
