Program Mission Statement: The AI Systems & Technology Management program equips students to deploy, integrate, secure, and support modern technology solutions for organizations, including artificial intelligence, programming, networking, cybersecurity, and data management. Students learn to serve users and communities through biblically-responsible and technically-competent computing practices by demonstrating Christ centered character, communicating clearly, troubleshooting effectively, and integrating systems responsibly.
Program Description: Most colleges teach IT skills. LBC teaches technology through the lens of truth and servant leadership. This program prepares students to deploy, integrate, secure, and support technology systems while living out Christlike service. Graduates are equipped for hands-on roles in IT, all with an eye on AI and how it can be used as a tool to increase efficiency and effectiveness without removing the Imago Dei. This degree prepares students for technology generalist roles in organizations with a track toward leading technology teams. Students gain practical skills in troubleshooting, scripting, networking, and system administration—plus soft skills in communication, ethics, and project management.
Program Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this program, the student will do the following:
1. Design solutions to complex problems using contemporary principles of computing and technology.
2. Evaluate computing-based solutions based on systems and technology fundamentals.
3. Communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences in written, oral, and visual forms.
4. Articulate how a biblical worldview informs ethical decision-making and the stewardship of technology.
5. Demonstrate missional engagement by considering cultural diversity, accessibility, and global impact in solution-design decisions.
Experiential Learning: CSC 450 Internship involves a 120-hour internship placement for all students in an area of professional interest. This placement is completed in person as arranged by the student in consultation with one of the professors.
In CSC 499 Senior Capstone, students initiate a team based project for an external client such as a ministry, nonprofit, or small business. This provides an opportunity to take everything they’ve learned and put it into a real-world context.
All students will complete CSC 400 Cross-Cultural Experience, a course designed to challenge and broaden the worldview of the student by placing them in a cultural context outside their own.

Program Director: Mark Wakefield, MBA
Mark Wakefield is the Program Chair for the AI Systems & Technology Management program, bringing nearly four decades of experience in technology management, enterprise systems, and business analysis. He holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Jose State University.
Mark’s professional background spans senior and leadership roles with organizations including IBM, Deloitte, TE Connectivity, and VF Corporation, where he specialized in enterprise resource planning (ERP), human capital management (HCM), systems integration, and large-scale business process transformation. His work has supported complex global implementations and mission critical system upgrades.
In addition to his industry experience, Mark has taught IT for Business at University Divitia Gratiae in Moldova, leading intensive in person courses for upper level undergraduates. He is recognized for his collaborative leadership style, practical, experience based approach to instruction, and commitment to student development. As Program Chair, Mark focuses on aligning emerging AI-driven systems with effective technology management practices and program growth through strong industry and adjunct partnerships.
