APO 575 Secularism and the Modern Self

This course examines the social, psychological, and cultural influences that have produced the dominance of individualism in the West and the secularism of society. In the process, the conception of what it means to be human and made in the image of God has been abandoned. Attention will be given to the metaphysical and epistemological concepts that gave rise to our present culture of antipathy to Christianity. (3 credits)
