Program Mission Statement:  The mission of the Biblical & Theological Studies program is to prepare Christian students for service in biblical and theological academic disciplines or for advanced studies in the field by educating them in the necessary skills for properly handling God’s Word and faithfully communicating it in the church, the academy, and the world. 

Program Learning Outcomes: As a result of this program, students will

1. Articulate an advanced knowledge of Scripture, theology, the gospel, and the overarching metanarrative of Scripture.
2. Apply a rigorous hermeneutical method of research skills in biblical interpretation employing the original languages.
3. Demonstrate an evangelical, biblically informed, and historically and culturally sensitive theological method.
4. Critique differing biblical, theological, cultural, and historical views.
5. Display a commitment to lifelong spiritual growth scripturally, theologically, and missionally in a church community.
6. Summarize historical trends and movements within the history of Christian thought.
7. Communicate biblical truth and how it shapes life and ministry to others in written and oral form.

 
Experiential Learning:   The Biblical & Theological Studies program includes two internships:  BTH 301 BTH Internship I and BTH 401 BTH Internship II.

Program Director: Gordon Gregory, DTh

Dr. Gregory earned his Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Theology from the University of South Africa.  He served as a missionary in South Africa doing church planting, teaching, and administrating a Bible college.  At LBC, he enjoys mentoring students and is the college's NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative.  
Gordon is also involved in his local church as an elder, adult Sunday School teacher, former chairman of the missions committee, and mentoring missionaries-in-training and engaged couples.  In his free time he enjoys his family, reading, sports, and doing word and number puzzles.
