CPS 573 Advanced Addictions Treatment Methods

This course is designed to build upon knowledge gained in the introductory addictions course and to prepare students for clinical addictions practice and successful completion of the Examination for Master Addictions Counselors (EMAC). Students will gain a deeper understanding of how both substance and process addictions impact families and learn professional therapeutic service delivery with this population. In addition to learning how to professionally counsel family members affected by addiction, students will be trained to navigate a process of reconciliation for spouses and families. This course is specifically for students pursuing professional addictions counseling.
