MUE 221 Art of Teaching General Music II

This course will equip the pre-service music teacher with the competencies necessary to creatively design, implement and evaluate secondary music instruction in public and private school settings following PA and national standards.  Consideration will be given to understanding who the secondary music student is and how to make musical connections to their lives.  Classroom management, strategies for teaching exceptional learners and English Language Learners, and culturally relevant teaching will be included in the course.  (1 credit)
