Graduation Awards - TU

The following traditional undergraduate awards are presented to graduating students.

Ally Center Scholar Award
The graduating student who evidences outstanding academic, spiritual, and social progress; who has been served by the Ally Center and holds a 2.5 GPA or above along with completing 30 credits as a full-time student.

Jessica Teague Achievement Award
Sponsored by Jessica and Friends Community, a cash award to the graduating senior who has been an inspiration in overcoming significant challenges in achieving academic success.

Valedictorian
A cash award to the graduate with the highest grade point average (bachelor’s degree student with a minimum of 75 hours completed at Lancaster Bible College).

Business Administration Award
A cash award to the graduate that exhibits the six concepts upon which the Business Administration Department is built: prioritization, communication, knowledge, servanthood, self-development, and stewardship.

Communication Excellence Award
A cash award to the graduating student who has best exemplified the values of LBC by integrating a biblical worldview through the application of ethical principles and professional standards within the communication community.

Delta Epsilon Chi Honor Society Awards of the Association for Biblical Higher Education
Certificates to the graduates who have evidenced academic scholarship, approved Christian character, and Christian leadership ability.

Excellence in School Counseling Award
A cash award given to the five-year accelerated program counseling student who has majored in Professional School Counseling. This graduate has completed 55 credits in counseling at LBC, possesses a GPA of 3.25 or higher, and exemplifies the qualities of a professional school counselor. The graduate’s commitment to integration of faith with professional practice in school counseling is evidenced by their leadership within the field of counseling and the college community, along with their commitment to advancing their professional competence through a desire to pursue life-long learning.

Health Physical Education Excellence Award
A membership subscription to the AAHPERD or to the NASSM magazine, given to the graduate who represents exemplary, innovative achievement as inspired by the life, career and character of John Wooden.

Homiletics Award
A cash award provided by the Shepherd’s Staff to the graduate who has demonstrated excellence in the art of preaching.

Literacy Keys Award
A cash award and a one-year membership to the International Reading Association which includes a one-year subscription to the Reading Teacher for the graduate who has shown knowledge, enthusiasm, and a repertoire of literature and skills to help the learner unlock the written word.

Margaret Uhler Servanthood Award
A cash award to the graduate who exemplifies the spirit of servanthood, cooperation, and involvement of Margaret Uhler.

Master Teacher Award
A book and cash award presented by the Education Department to the graduating student who exemplifies the characteristics of the Master Teacher.

Mcilwaine Science Award
A cash award to the graduate who has demonstrated a biblical commitment and outstanding achievement in the sciences, science education and student teaching in the sciences. The recipient must be enrolled in the Education Department with a minimum of 125 hours of study.

Missio Dei Award
A cash award and book given to the graduate who has committed to serve God as a missionary, demonstrating a love for God and a love for people through prayer, evangelism, and involvement in ministry while at LBC.

Phi Alpha Honor Society Award
A cash award to the Social Work graduate who exhibits the tenets of the six core values of the social work profession by active leadership and participation in the Social Work Student Association.

Robert J. Roper Student Government Award
A cash award to the graduate displaying all-around involvement in school life.

Servant Leader Award
A cash award to a male and female student, who through their academic study, ministry service, and Christ-like character, have clearly demonstrated a love for God and others throughout their time at LBC.

Student Leadership Awards
Plaques to the graduates who have manifested excellent accomplishment in the area of student leadership. Certificates to the graduates who have manifested distinguished accomplishment in the area of student leadership.

Theology Award
A book provided by the Baker Book House to the graduate with the highest average in theology.

The John Pugh Honorary Award for Excellence in Counseling
A cash award to the undergraduate student who has completed 30 credits and who exemplifies the qualities of a strong commitment to integration of their faith with professional practice in counseling.

The Professional Counselor Award
A cash award given to the five-year accelerated program counseling student who has completed a minimum of 55 credits in counseling and demonstrates a Christ-like character of love for people and a passion for helping those in need as evidenced by community engagement and service to others.

Worship & Performing Arts Faculty Award
A cash award to the senior who exemplifies biblical standards of worship in his/her personal and professional life, effectively engaging the world through the use of his/her individual art form.
