HIS 210 Origins & Legacies of 1960s

The decade of the 1960s proved to be one of the most pivotal decades in American history.  The Cold War and the Conflict in Vietnam inspired a new generation of activists, known as the New Left, to address social tensions, economic disparities, racial conflict, and political rivalries. When conservative populations pushed back against the rise of the New Left, America entered a time of culture war which saw the rise of the Civil Rights movement, the implementation of the Great Society, and the backlash of America’s status quo.  This class will analyze the convulsive changes American culture endured in the 1960s and the fallout from those changes through the twentieth century in light of a biblical worldview.
