SPM 475 Facility/Event Management
This course is a study of the principles, guidelines, and recommendations for planning, construction, use of, maintenance, and management of various types of sport facilities. Indoor facilities, equipment uses and upkeep are studied. Outdoor complexes are investigated with special attention given to lighting systems and turf management. Course topics include examining planning, designing, financing, and selecting of sites for stadiums and arenas as well as operational functions such as personnel, finance, security, concessions, seat distribution, event scheduling, equipment management, and maintenance of facilities and equipment. 3 credits.
